FORMER CIA DIRECTOR WOOLSEY TO DISCUSS THREATS TO AMERICA'S ELECTRICAL GRID

Intelligence Chief to Explain Consequences of Terrorist
Attack on Power Sources

Washington, D.C.—Former CIA Director R. James Woolsey will lead a panel discussion on the growing threat of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) on the United States' electrical grid.

A recent poll conducted by the polling company™ shows widespread support for taking steps to fortify the electrical grid across party and regional lines.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security, which has a legislative mandate to protect the country's crucial infrastructure, is cutting back on training for electric utilities in how to make their assets more resilient against cyber (or other) attacks. It is time for corrective action and for Americans to join forces to institute them.

Director Woolsey and a panel of experts will discuss these challenges and solutions at the offices of Artemis Strategies in Washington, D.C. Mr. Woolsey and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are the honorary co-chairs of a new EMP Coalition to ensure the resiliency of our grid and the critical national security and civilian infrastructures that depend upon it.

Who:
• R. James Woolsey, former Director of Central Intelligence
• Amb. Henry Cooper, Chairman, High Frontier
• Peter Pry, President, EMPact America

What:
• Panel Discussion on Vulnerability of the Electrical Grid
