About EMET
The Endowment for Middle East Truth
is a seven-year old think tank and policy shop operating in
the capital, Washington, D.C. dedicated to preserving and defending the
national security of the United States, and its ally Israel, in their joint
struggle against the forces of radical Islam. EMET emphasizes Israel's unique
role as the eastern outpost of Western democratic values, holding down
the fort against a rising tide of radical Islam. EMET brings the vital
intelligence and hard-earned tactical advice Israel has to offer to the
United States' straight to Capitol Hill by presenting seminars and briefings
from a veritable "brain trust" of acknowledged experts.
EMET operates to educate America's policymakers, where it
makes the most impact, conducting one-on-one briefings with Congressional
offices on a weekly basis. That's why we've been called "the Go-To-People" by
Capitol Hill staffers, thanks to our knowledge of Middle East affairs, and
our ability to offer an outside-the-box perspective, covering the issues that
larger pro-Israel organizations are too politically correct to confront.
EMET was educating Congress on the Palestinian Authority's
blatant and repeated violations of the Oslo Accords while other organizations
were busy drawing up detailed maps of the next territory Israel should
surrender in the failed "Land-for-Peace" paradigm. EMET was the first
organization to call for an end to military aid to Egypt during the chaos of
the Arab Spring, while other Pro-Israel groups were lobbying for MORE weapons
and MORE money for the increasingly radicalized and Muslim
Brotherhood-dominated Egyptian Government. EMET was the first
organization to confront the failure of the Department of Justice to
investigate, indict and extradite Palestinian terrorists who have slain or
injured American citizens, despite federal laws which demand such efforts.
We're working with Congress right now to bring oversight to the DOJ, and
insure that all Americans receive the justice they deserve.
EMET was the only Jewish, pro-Israel organization that was
on Capitol Hill, meeting with both Republican and Democratic members of the
Senate Armed Services Committee, as well as others, to educate them about our
concerns regarding Chuck Hagel nomination as a potential Secretary of
Defense.
EMET fights for America and Israel's security against all
enemies, foreign and domestic. We worked alongside Senator Jon Kyl to
confront the FBI over its continued association with Muslim Brotherhood front
groups with ties to terrorism. EMET's new book, "Saudi Arabia and the Global
Islamic Terrorist Network", pulls back the curtain on the decades-long effort
of the Saudi Kingdom to influence and manipulate western governments,
businesses and educational institutions to undermine national security, and
spread their virulent doctrine of radical Islam. EMET is Hebrew for "Truth",
and at EMET we've vowed to follow the facts wherever they lead, even when the
answers are unpopular or against the "conventional wisdom" of Saudi-funded
doyens with State Department pedigrees.
With our newsletters, containing a weekly summary of the
events and opinions that are shaping the Middle East, EMET has the ability to
reach over 3,500 subscribers, including hundreds of Congressional staff,
government officials and embassy staff, along with thousands of activists',
community leaders and VIPs. One Congressman has called the EMET Memoranda
"required reading" for his staff. This outreach capability enables EMET to
deliver vital action alerts to a motivated and capable grassroots so that, to
paraphrase President Reagan, "When we can't make them see the light, we can
make them feel the heat."
Investing in EMET means supporting a young organization, which is lean,
intelligent, dedicated and capable. Nothing is wasted on bloated bureaucracy
or cushy Washington D.C. real estate. Supporting EMET means getting
your contribution directly to the front lines of the War of Ideas, where it
matters the most.

"I want to thank you for all the valuable work
that you and your colleagues at EMET have done to strengthen ties between the
United States and our ally Israel. EMET understands that the greatest weapon
we have in our generational struggle against terrorism is our eternal and unversal
values. Because of your efforts, many more people are informed abou the
security challenges facing America and Israel, along with free societies
everywhere." Read full letter
--Senator Joseph
Lieberman
"Sarah, thank you so much for inviting me and
honoring me along with the other very distinguished winners of your award
tonight. And it is just an honor to be here with all of the supporters of
EMET. This is a fantastic organization. It really does extraordinarily
important work on a continuing basis. It is really a tribute to Sarah and
everybody who has worked with her. They have built it literally from scratch.
It really has a significant impact on Washington and on Capitol Hill, and
hopefully, on the next administration as well. All of you who are supporters
of EMET, your support is much appreciated. It is put to very good use. And I
encourage you, even in a time when there are a lot of demands, especially as
we come close to November, to remember Sarah and EMET and to keep that
support coming in, because the work that is being done is ever more
critical."
--Ambassador John
Bolton
"I would like to take the opportunity provided
by the Endowment for Middle East Truth(EMET) Reception on June 21, 2012, to
recognize the important work done by your organization, which is dedicated to
preserving and defending the national security of the United States and its
democratic ally and closest friend in the Middle East - Israel. Thank you for
your excellent work and leadership in support of the U.S. - Israel
relationship
--Rep. Brad Sherman
In its short existence, EMET has emerged as a
critical organization in the battle against Islamic extremism and terrorism.
Founded by Sarah Stern, Emet is dedicated to providing the truth about the
Arab war against Israel to members of Congress, the media and the general
public. There is no more important mission than this. Sarah brings decades of
experience and knowledge with an inexhaustible supply of energy. EMET needs
your support.
--Steve Emerson
"Few people know the truth about
the Middle East like Sarah Stern. Her voice and her new organization, EMET, are
essential in communicating that truth to people who may accept at face value
the moral equivalency they see presented on TV and in their newspapers."

"With the rise of Hamas in Gaza, and the
development of Iranian nuclear technology, the need for an institution such
as EMET is greater than ever before. It is obvious that the land-for-peace
paradigm has not only failed to establish peace, but it has also reinforced
the ambitions of those who aim to destroy both Israel and the United States.
It is time for a new voice in this debate, such as that offered by the
Endowment for Middle East Truth." -- U.S.
Senator Sam Brownback
"I am writing in strong support of Sarah
Stern, who has worked with my office on matters of legislative importance. I
praise her efforts in establishing the Washington, DC-based Middle East
policy think tank, EMET. I have know Sarah for many years and find her to be
passionate and knowledgeable regarding sponsorship of the Koby Mandell Act,
which I agreed to support.
Sarah's understanding of the Middle East region and the
challenges for peace lend themselves well to her endeavors to produce
assessments that will be valuable as events unfold. I enthusiastically
endorse Sarah Stern's effort and Look forward to EMET's success"
--Member of Congress, Ileana
Ros-Lehtinen
"Congratulations on founding the
new Think Tank "Endowment for Middle East Truth" (EMET). I know few
people more committed than you to the flourishing of US-Israel relations or
to getting out the truth about the very real dangers that eminate from the
Middle East today. I wish you every success in your new endeavor.
--Member
of Congress, Tom Lantos
I write to congratulate you on the
founding of the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET), and wish you all the
best in your new endeavor. I am sure that your broad experience with
the pro-Israel advocacy community has given you unique insights into the
strengths and weaknesses of currently available information and analysis on
the Middle East, and I welcome the new voice EMET brings to the
conversation.
EMET has the opportunity and talent to make a significant
contribution to the policy debate on the Middle East. With terrorist
organizations joining or leading some governments, Iran increasing regional
instability and seeking a nuclear capability and innocent lives destroyed by
brutal attacks, it is more important than ever that we have strong,
knowledgeable voices spreading the word about the reality that Israel and
friends of democracy face in the region. EMET will be able to provide a
counterweight in support of realistic and accurate assessments of the threats
we face and the need for clear action.
I have appreciated our work together in the past, and look
forward to a continued positive relationship going forward.
--Member
of Congress, Robert E. Andrews
PREVIOUS RECIPIENTS OF OUR ANNUAL "SPEAKER OF THE
TRUTH AWARDS"
Each year, EMET honors a few outstanding members of
Congress who have been leading voices on
behalf of Israel's struggle to survive and strong defenders for America in
the war that the radical
Islamists have waged on the West.
What makes this evening so unique however, is that we also
use this as an occasion to honor some true
"profiles in courage." These are people of Arab or Muslim descent
who have risked everything, including
exclusion from family and friends, and even their very lives in order to
speak the truth about much of
the nature of the Arab and Muslims worlds from which they hail. Many of them
are currently in hiding
because they have had Fatwas‐Islamic
death threats placed on their heads‐‐‐simply
for speaking the
truth.
